Disliked: Amenities
The hotel is situated in a location that has no equal: easy access to transport, shopping and restaurants/foodcourts.
The staff, conceige and housekeeping are all friendly and help. We stayed there for 7 5 nights and are reasonably satisfied.
But we aren’t happy about the facilities in our room on the 20th floor:
1. NO writing desk and NO chair. Everything has to be done by guests sitting on a sofa and a small tea-table which serves as a multi-purpose: for having tea/ coffee, lady’s makeup ( no proper lighting) and work purposes ( writing and using laptop). That’s ridiculous!
We had to sit on the bed to do some paper work! Cause backaches to us!
2. Whilst a stay of a single day at the hotel might not matter, we stayed there for a total of 12 nights ( 7 5 nights): the room hasn’t got a single drawer or cupboard for us to put our clothes… just a few hangers. NO drawer. NO cupboard for guest’s clothes! We had to keep opening and shutting our bags each time we need anything in them.
3. Also lack of hooks to hang our towels, etc.
4. The shower is poorly designed: each time we showed, the water would splash out all over and wet the outer area of the wash-room.
We had frequently stayed at this hotel, under different names, over 20 years because of the convenience on the location and transport. But since The ParkRoyal Collection was taken over by Pan Pacific, our room seems smaller than previously.
Overall, I rate the hotel only as a 3 star. Not 4 star as claimed.
